What is the Meaning of Closed Activities in NWDI ?

NWDI is used to Store and version the Code. Web Dynpro projects can be Stored in Development components and versioned properly. Multiple developers can work from multiple locations using NWDI. The code is deployed on various systems in the ladscape by the mechanism of activities. There are 4 views on in NWDS IDE related to activities. These are called Open Activities, Activation View, Transport View and Closed Activities.

Screenshot of each of the Views is shown below

Open Activities View list the activities that contain files the developer is working on currently. They are checked out from the DTR. Once the Developer Checks in the Code or the activity, it will be moved to the Activation View. In the Activation view, he can activate the View and this activity then moves to Transport View. In the transport view, he can release the activity and it is now ready to transported to QA. The transport to QA can be done by the portal Administrator.

There is another View added in NW7.3 version called Closed Activity shown below.

What is purpose of Closed Activities? Please shed light on the Purpose of Closed Activities if you can.
